I feel like a 12 x 12 double page layout! 😀

I’m loving these colors…the aqua blue and the olive green. They are very refreshing in this heat wave. We’re supposed to have heat indices of up to 105 degrees F today & tomorrow. I’m still working on my challenge to ME – to use up Provo Craft Super Slab #10. Ya know…I liked that slab when I bought it…might as well USE it, right? I also dug into my stash for prima flowers. I have oodles of those paper flowers, but rarely use them. They were just the embellishment this DPS needed. The primas are attached with the rhinestones from the SU! Pretties kit. The sketch is Sally’s SBSC228 .
Not sure what photos I will use on this layout, but it sure is pretty, refreshing eye candy for now.

…actually it was more like 4 – 5 hours. Holy cow! I am still working on the Provo Craft Super Slab #10. I scrap 12 x 12; but decided to do some 6 x 6 pages. Lookie…
I used a “Scrapbook in an evening” scrap map provided by Stampin’ Up! Most all products used on the pages are SU! with the exception of the designer paper, the dew drops and a few of the embellishments.
Here’s a list of items used to create these pages:
Stamps: SU! Journaling Fun (retired)
Ink: SU! Pale Plum Classic, SU! Perfect Plum Classic
Paper: SU! Whisper White, SU! Pale Plum (textured), Provo Craft Super Slab #10, SU! Perfect Plum
Accessories: SU! Button Boutique, SU! Embosslits Beautiful Wings, SU! Big Shot, Glue Dots, SU! Tearing Edge, Antique Keys (unknown vendor), Sticky Strip, SU! Stampin’ Dimensionals, SU! Mini Library Clips, SU! Vintage Brads, SU! Buttons (retired), Striped Grosgrain (unknown vendor), SU! Small Tag Punch, SU! Tag Punch, Robin’s Nest Dew Drops, Mono Multi, SU! Decorative Accents Die, Cuttlebug Textile Embossing Folder, Velour Rick Rack (May Arts), SU! Pretties Kit (flat backed pearls), SU! Decorative Accents #2 Die, SU! Linen Thread, Spiral Clip (unknown), Polka Dot Sheer Ribbon (unknown vendor).
So how do you approach a project like this? How can you recreate this project? Select two patterns, two solids and one neutral (white or vanilla). You’ll need two of each solid color. Cut each 12 x 12 sheet in to 4 6 x 6 pieces. Then start cutting and laying out the pages. After all pages have been laid out, begin assembly. I do some embellishing during lay out and assembly. I do extra embellishing after I have all pages completed. Now I have a wonderful set of pages…complete with “dummy” portraits…all I need to do is attach pictures in the sizes noted!
Neat, huh?

I decided to make some cards to use up some products. So I went with the OSW – one sheet wonder – idea and based my cards on a 12 x 12 sheet of designer paper from Provo Craft Slab #10. It features dragonflies and swirls with tones of blue and green.

I even decorated the inside. Lookie…

Supplies:
Stamps: Bugs & Kisses
Paper: Old Olive, Night of Navy, Whisper White, Provo Craft Super Slab #10
Ink: Old Olive Craft, Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Night of Navy
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, SU! Dimensionals, Distressing Tool, Scallop Edge Broder Punch, Circle Scissors Plus, Brayer, Sponge
Techniques: Brayer, Distressing

I did, however, add a few touches to make it my own. Instead of using die cut daisies, I used the larger flower and a smaller flower from the SU! Pretties Kit. For the center of the flower, instead of a punched circle, I used a Summer Sun Corduroy brad. I did not have room to add a sentiment and I used a different ribbon placement.
All products are Stampin’ Up!, except the ribbon. The ribbon…most likely came from a bouquet of flowers from my husband…it is a nice white satin. Phillip & I ironed it with the Pebbles Ribbon Iron. Right after we iron it…he wads it up in a ball and rubs it on his face. {sigh} I’m sure it’s soft and warm…but…son…we just ironed it! 😀

It was family, fun, freedom, fireworks, flags, FOOD! 😀 Nope…not the Fourth of July. The Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge TN! Notice I “x”ed out the “fourth” and Sharpie markered in FOOD!

I created these pages at a time I wanted to scrap, but didin’t want to fool with the pictures. I created a pile of Fourth of July, red/white/blue themed pages using a kit I had. The kit was a 8.5 x 11 kit and I scrap 12 x 12. So I added SU! Basic Black in 12 x 12.
My favorite part has to be the stars on the edges of the pages! I punched the black CS with SU! Star Punch and then put red paper on the back.

This page came together so quickly! Maybe you don’t feel like scrapping or fooling with pictures…you can still create pages and use sticky notes so you’ll remember where to put photos and journaling. Just don’t forget to USE the pages at a later date. I’m bad about this…it’s like making a list…and then forgetting to look at the list. Some good the list did me. {sigh} BUT…I’m getting better at looking at my list. {wink}
Happy Friday! Do like Santa…make a list and check it twice!

There were some really interesting individual exhibits of aquatic animals at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies. Here’s a page with a few of them:

Since DS plays Playstation while I scrap, I always share my completed page with him before I photograph. His reaction…WOW! And a big smile! Coming from a 15 year old…fantastic, super! Now…not sure if it was for the photos or the page. In either case, love how this page came together.
Using a Sally Sketch (SBSC116) and the Basic Grey Archaic Collection, I was able to create a page featuring three very different aquatic animals. I purchased the Basic Grey Archaic Collection a couple of years ago and have been steadily using it. I’ve really enjoyed this kit. I still have several sheets left.
