Oh my! It’s been a month since I’ve posted. I really need to post much more often.
Today, I visited the new JLO Flicker to see what was happening. I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time to do much, except sleep, shower, eat and work. Imagine my surprise when I see a sneak peek for a COCKER SPANIEL STAMP! Yep, I’m shouting. I’m giddy. YAY!
I was searching for more info, cuz you wouldn’t believe Jess didn’t let me know she had a Cocker Spaniel set in the works! (pouts)
Check this out! Cocker Spaniel Pup
I wanna see the rest of the Cocker Spaniel stamps. (stomping foot) NOW!
tee hee
It’s going LIVE on the 31st. I’ll most likely be at the Univeristy of Scouting; but intend to check it out ASAP!
The light bulb went ON! I found two band-aid tins in my Stampin’ FLYBabies Fall Craft Kit. Would you belive a gift card fits in there perfectly?! The fall kit had some really pretty burgundy paper / tan / green paper that could do double duty for Christmas projects. Two patterns of it! And off I go to create not one, not two, but THREE gift card holders. Man…I’m gift card holdered out! Thankfully, there’s only one more gift card to “wrap.” He might just get a regular ole’ box. (wink)
Ok…here’s the first one:
Mom will love this! Inside I stashed a $50 Michael’s Gift Card! I am positive she will use the tin to stash things, maybe coins…who knows.
Stamps: Tidy Alphabet, one of the “tag” stamps from SU!
Paper: Reminisce DP, Cranberry Crisp, PTI White
Ink: Cranberry Crisp
Accessories: Cranberry Crisp stitched, Small Tag Punch,, Large Tag Punch, ribbon, Sticky Strip
Here’s another tin:
This is for a kind nieghbor. Ya know, I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 10 years. I don’t go around asking for help. I just do it myself, ya know. Well…to keep a long story short…this neighbor helped me out on the farm this fall. I am deeply appreciative for and of his help. Inside he will find a $50 Gift Card to Ryan’s. I hope his family will enjoy dining there as much as mine does.
Creative Details: An Imaginisce chipboard ribbon slide was smooshed in Chocolate Chip Craft Ink, doused with SU! Glassy Glaze Enamel and fired with the heat gun. I punched a hole with my Cropadile for the word brad. That was THREE holes actually, but, who’s counting (wink). Wide grosgrain ribbon that matches Certainly Celery and some cranberry colored ribbon from the Craft Kit were threaded through the slide.DP is a fall design from Reminisce, which I think works wonderfully for Christmas as well.
Paper: Reminisce DP
Ink: Chocolate Chip Craft
Accessories: Ribbon, Chipboard Ribbon Slide, Word Brad, sticky strip, Crop-a-Dile, Corner Rounder, SU! Glassy Glaze Enamel, Heat Gun
And one more gift card holder.
(sigh)
Ever create something and wonder if it’s cheesy? That’s how I feel about this one…then I look at it…there’s things I really do like about it!
The tag…it’s an Imaginisce Chipboard tag (from the SFB Fall CK) smooshed in Creamy Caramel Craft Ink & dried with the heat gun. It looks like leather. I love the pinecone stamp (also from the SFB Fall CK). I colored the image with SU! markers and huffed on the image before stamping.
I love the paper; candy cane design from Provo Craft, dotted DP from Reminisce on top of the can and punched in circles (SFB Fall CK). I love the wide cream grosgrain with the faux velvet zigzag on top…I love the punched shapes and buttons (SFB Fall CK), kind a sorta.
Well, there’s definitely NOTHING cheesy about what’s inside…a $50 Lowe’s Gift Card! I’m sure Joe will love the gift card. He usually chucks the box / wrapper / whatever pretty darn quick. (wink)
Stamps: Unknown
Paper: Provo Craft, Reminisce
Ink: Creamy Caramel Craft
Accessories: 1″ Circle Punch, Twine, Imagninsce Chipboard, Buttons, Pop Dots, Sticky Strip, Coluzzle
I’m wondering what Santa brought just for me.
Could it be cardstock or chipboard or lace?
“Or a Cricut,” I said, with a smile on my face.
And that’s when I heard him, “Hi Santa!” I said.
“You know….good little girls should be in their beds.”
“I know I should Santa, and now I’ve got caught.
But I was just so excited to see what you brought.”
“Well, let’s take a look in this room where you work.”
He shook his head quickly, and left with a jerk.
I heard him exclaim as he put it in gear…
“You’ve got enough crap, I’ll see you next year!”
— from a SplitCoastStamper received who this from one of her customers.
in Kentucky! We had ice / freezing rain / snow. That combo, in the correct order, makes for GREAT sledding. But I was unable to partake in the sledding fun, as I worked yesterday. My son had a get out of school free card yesterday and AGAIN today. Since things in life are rarely “free”, they’ll have to make up two days of school next spring.
I was looking at my blog banner! It looks so strange…all bright and summery! I need some SNOW! I’ve contacted the fab Ms. Beth for assistance.
All this talk of SNOW and my project is pumpkins! Here’s the first project I have created with the Stampin Flybabies Fall Craft Kit.
I love that expression “Hello, Pumpkin!” I just had to use it as a title.
Here’s a close-up of the left side:
My son rasied pumpkins this year. I usually do it, but he wanted to. He had a bumper crop of big, firm, heavy pumpkins this year. It was the year of the pumpkin!
The circles were cut using Coluzzle and then I added a row of chocolate chip brads, then tied a knot and added that.
Here’s a close-up of the right side:
I love Pumpkin Patch Riley. I received the image through Wish RAK on SCS! Riley was colored with Copic Markers. This was one image I colored ahead of time and actually used. I’m not a fan of coloring images ahead of time, because I never know how I’m going to use them. I’m also loving using those SU! Carousel Notes. This was creating using one of Sally’s sketches and Sally likes circles in her layouts. I’m getting lots of use out of that Coluzzle. (Did you know that is pronounced to rhyme with puzzle – that’s the only way I can remember how to spell it – yeah..I know DUH me.) I do love the “pumpkin” word brad over the chocolate ribbon.
I’m not sure on the vendor of the paper, but I will check.
Jessica sent me this very cute, detailed Santa Train stamp set. I figured it would be great for scrapping my DS Christmases from when he was younger! I’m thinking if I’m going to do this much detailed coloring…I’m gonna make it on something I’m gonna KEEP!
Creative Details: Stamped in the lower left corner is Jessica Lynn Original’s Santa Train! What a cute detailed stamp. I colored this with Copic markers. All the holly & berries, the bow and the “25”, I covered with the Glaze Pen. Other things, like the Christmas Tree, the reindeer antlers, the elves’ hats, I covered with At You Spica Glitter pens from Copic. DP at the top was torn using the SU! Tearing Edge. DP is from Paper Pizazz. Titling is Tidy Alphabet and Tidy Numbers in Brocade Blue on PTI White. Matting is Brocade Blue & Night of Navy. The small photos are mounted with pop dots.
As I mentioned before, these are very detailed stamps. I did use a magnifying glass to see the details more clearly as I colored. It was like being in a doll house. The details are amazing – from the Santa, Christmas Tree and fireplace on the caboose to the cute elves peeking out of the first car!
WOW! I can’t believe Dad turned 60 on Saturday! I did give him a call to wish him a happy birthday. We’re planning to have a cookout / birthday party for Dad & my DS on Sunday. Here’s something I made for Dad.
Here’s the front view:
Here’s the back view:
I was altering a wooden box from the Stampin’ Flybabies Summer Craft Kit and wanted to do something different. I decided to spray paint the box using three colors – a walnut color, a tan color and gold. I spray painted outside in the shop, in front of the fan. Haha – I was NOT downwind.
I had some SU! Carousel Notes I had yet to open. I thought to make “flowers”. I used John Deere stickers to decorate some, Chocolate Chip Love & Happiness Rub Ons to alter others, with chocolate brads in the middle as seeds.
Inside the wooden box is a styrofoam cube. I purchased cattails and black eyed susan flowers from Michaels. The papercrafted “flowers” are attached to bamboo skewers. I used my Coluzzle to create the Summer Sun and Garden Green circles, used my SU! Scallop Punch and my Marvy Mega Scallop Circle to create the other circles.
I punched a Giga Scalloped Oval from Soft Sky CS and used to cover the handles, because although I picked up moss at Michaels, I put it back because I got green styrofoam. Well, after I got it all put together, I could see the “backbones” and wanted to hide that. However, I wanted to get my project completed and did not want to go back to Michaels. So I had to think of something. This was what I came up with.
Here’s a close up of the flower arrangement from the front:
The back panels are attached with pop dots.
I received the Tractor Time image and the John Deere stickers through the SCS Wish RAK Forum. I punched the stamped image with a Marvy Mega Oval Punch and colored with Copic Markers. The “grass border”, I found at Michaels & can not remember what company makes it. I trimmed the bottom of the oval & inserted the tractor under the grass border.
You can really see the shimmer of the gold and the various colors used to paint the box. I hope Dad likes this. I ordered him a John Deere cake, too! I love this & I am so NOT the dried “fake” flowers person – aaaaaachooooooo! They collect dust. But this – I like. I hope Dad enjoys it.
The supply list is long – here’s what I can remember looking at the photos:
Stamps: Tractor Time, Big Deal Alpha, Cheery Chat
Ink: Garden Green Craft, Black
Paper: Wild Wasabi, Summer Sun, Paper Trey Ink White, Garden Green
Supplies: wooden box, spray paint (Walnut, tan & gold), grass border, sticky strip, various punches (1/4″ hand held, Marvy Giga Scallop Oval, Marvy Mega Oval, SU! Scallop Circle, Marvy Mega Circle Scallop), bamboo skewers, doodle template, SU! markers, Copic Markers, brads, Love & Happiness rub-ons in Chocolate chip, Basic Grey Rub-On Tool, fake flowers, styrofoam, John Deere Stickers, pop dots
This my favorite story. Danny and the Dinosaur. Mom said we read that story so much, I had it memorized! While I do not have my original copy of the book, when my son was in elementary school, I picked up a copy at the Book Fair. I still read it ocassionally. It give me this warm cozy feeling. My son, on the other hand, runs from the room with his ears covered. (shrug)
I created this card for ND Stamper’s July 4th Challenge over in SCS’s Wish RAK Forum. We were to create a masculine birthday card using SC182.
Card base is Chocolate Chip. I selected three patterns from my Basic Grey 6 x 6 Archaic pad. I have the 12 x 12 pad, too. (wink, wink) Using SU!’s 1 3/8 punch to punch out three of each design. Run those through Xyron and attached.
Focal image is a Rub-On from the Archaic collection, on Paper Trey White, matted on Not Quite Navy and Chocolate Chip, attached with dimensionals.
The twine I received from Wish RAK; the beads, I inherited from a completed Cub Scout Project (from one young fella to another young fella – how cool is that?) The sentiment is yet another rub-on and is quite B R I G H T! It’s from SU!’s A Perfect Day Collection.
I used my nifty Basic Grey Rub-On Tool for this project.
All cards created during Wish RAK’s July 4 Challenges will be donated to the troops. Wish RAK’s goal is 1,000 cards! I sure hope this card makes one little boy smile!
