Pirates of the RINEY*TOWN

Um…yep…Halloween Bash 2006 and the theme was PIRATES!

I made some decorations that year…two of which became my all time favorite Hallween decorations.  My scarecrow pirate…a.k.a. Capt’n Jack…sadly…passed away this past Halloween.  He now lives in the landfill.  LOL.  What happened was with his weakened legs, he finally keeled over in a very strong wind.  The rum didn’t help.  However, the anchors…have had one coat of paint since and grace the walls of my shop porch!  That’s the pirate house.  LOL.

Check it out!

This is one of those pages that use things from fifty million kits and shop items…and stash.  LOL.  YES.  This is one of those layouts that result from a CRAFTSPLOSION!  Or maybe result in a craftsplosion.  In either case…that’s all cleaned up.  **wink**

I really do love Studio Calico’s classes.  The anchors were CUT IT OUT class materials and the OMW! outline of the Commonwealth of Kentucky is a cut file from the current BRIGHT IDEAS class.  Kinsey Wilson created upteen cut files…all the US states + several countries!

And this page was inspired by BRIGHT IDEA #3 – Map it!

The anchors were cut from POW Black Glitter paper, pierced and then hand stitched down with the AC Natural Jute.

Kit items.
  • From the BLOCK PARTY Scrapbook Kit: Thickers, Elf in Natural (American Crafts); Arrow / Geotag Thickers (Studio Calico).
  • From the Pioneer Drive Add-on: Micro Monogram Letters in Black (Basic Gray).
  • From the FRONT ROW Card Kit: Jute, NaturaL (American Crafts).
  • From the FRONT ROW Scrapbook Kit: die cut labels (Studio Calico).
  • From the Popcorn Add-on: Wood Chip Bubbles (Freckled Fawn).
Other supplies.
  • Paper: SU! Nautical Expedition, SU! Basic Black, SU! Paciffic Point, POW Black Glitter Paper.
  • Accessories: Cameo, Zig .05 Millenium in Pure Black & Pure Red, Hearts & Arrows Veneer (Studio Calico), Tiny Attacher, Pop Dots, Glue Dots

I have used lots & lots of favorite products!  I finally used that SU! Nautical Expedition paper I have loved for so long.  LOL.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a moo’valous day!

Welcome to Halloween Bash 2006

It feels soooo good…to be using my stash AND scrapping a stack of photos ALREADY printed!  😀  And of a fun fun time to boot!

Check it out.  This is the opening page of the Halloween Bash 2006 section of the Halloween Scrapbook.

I had fun with this.  This was the FIRST Halloween Bash we put on.  We had a blast.

I was inspired by a VSN challenge…and I created a scrapbook page.  While it is not a
card, it does fall within the VSBN time limit of a 2 hour page.  (The card limit is 45 minutes.  Stitch like mad…you can do it in 2 hours.  **wink**)

I used the SC
Sunday Sketch for 02.17.13, pulling in pieces from my SU! stash, SC’s Front Row
SB kit, Popcorn SB Add-on and some SC shop items.

The spider web is
stitched! I stamped on scratch paper and then paper pierced a pattern that I
stitched in with DMC floss. This is BRIGHT IDEA #8 – String Art. (Bright Ideas is a class I’m taking @ Studio Calico this month.)  The spiders are
stamped, colored and then covered with Cyrstal Effects.

My favorite part
was using Prima Chalk ink on the naked chipboard letters! Those letters are
retired SU! On Board Letters. The ink is Prima Chalk Edger in Branch
Bark!  They look like chocolate letters…good enough to eat!

I love veneer. Check out the veneer speech bubble and arrow from
Freckled Fawn, geo-tags from Studio Calico and brackets from Sodalicious.

Momma Cat

There was a “lift the person above you” challenge thread over in the Studio Calico community.  I decided to play for the first time!  The person who posted above me was “kreativmarie”.  I lifted this layout from her gallery.  I had just the pictures of Momma Cat from April & June of 2011, already printed, ready to scrap!

I used items from the Studio Calico BLOCK PARTY kits.   Momma was quite the hunter.  She’s going after a bird in the bottom picture.  She was a sweetheart!  We miss her.

Confidently!

I had plans for mixed media.  I had the journal.  I had a magazine with sticky notes on pages.  I had the Unity S.M.A.K. kits for several months.  THEN…Splitcoaststampers added a new challange – Mix-ability!  whoo hoo!

First up was YIN / YANG.  Something matte + something shiny.

My matte is gesso + embossing powder AND chipboard + sequins.   I don’t guess chipboard & sequins are mediums.  LOL.  😉  But they still matte & shiny.  😀

Thinking of You

I’m participating in a monthly challenge with my fellow FlyBabies over on SCS.  This month we’re making THINKING OF YOU cards!  I made several with the Studio Calico BLOCK PARTY card kit.  Here are two:

The card above was inspired by Lucy Abrams, a new member of the Studio Calico Card Team.   Below, I’m drawing inspiration from Gayagri Muladri, another member of the Card Team over @ Studio Calico. I love her CAS style!

I shared, in another post, another thinking of you card.  Below, I’m CASE-ing Dawn McVey!  You can read more about this card HERE.

I hope you enjoyed your visit!  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a moo’valous day!

hello, hello!

These cards…CASEing Gayatri Murali!  She is a new member of the Studio Calico design team – the card team!  Her gallery has wonderful CAS (clean and simple) cards!  They are so crisp!  I’m using my BLOCK PARTY Card kit.  All card kit.

I love those tiny blue bling flowers!

and I love those tiny bling stars!

I like ’em both.  Which is your favorite?

…what a good lil dogue!

At one time, I had a magazine named “Dogue”.  It was the canine version of “Vogue”.  It was cute.  Then I started calling my Cocker Spaniel “a good lil’ dogue.”  LOL.

Penny flies!  Really, she flies.  If she’s moving…it’s one big blur.  She got to visit inside the house…and off she goes…fast…with that nose to the ground.  T-2 was a smart kitty kat.  She went to hide.  LOL.

Penny and the shop cats.  Oh boy.  She growls at Garfield…Garfield hisses at her.  They aggravate each other.  But she likes Lincoln.  I think.  Cuz Lincoln is MY cat.  Garfield is Dale’s cat.  LOL.  eh…CATS…I guess they were playing or goofing off that day.  Love that expression on her face!

Feed me MOM!  Feed me!  And there’s those treats she loves.  I try to purchase…ahem…soft ones.  Her pills, I smush up in the treat!  😉  Crinkle the bag…and that’s the look I get.  LOL.

What a dogue!

I used products from every. single. BLOCK PARTY kit.  Yup…sure did!  I even pulled a couple things from my stash, like those ca-ute cat paper clips!  eek!  (I also purchased the…ahem…COW clips…they were out of dog clips.)  I really really really like that push pin badge!

This layout was inspired by Studio Calico’s Sunday Sketch 01.28.2013…the card sketch.  Although, I have less squares than the sketch has circles.  LOL.  I don’t care.  I got to scrap some adorable pictures of my ca-ute little dogue.

CASEing Dawn McVey

Dawn had a GREAT idea on using the Color Vibe Sn@p pockets from Simple Stories, found in the WOODBROOKE ROAD Add-on kit.

I love the brown.  I love the Man & Woman Badges from Hello Forever, the Hearts Artisan Chipboard from Pink Paislee…all found in the WILDBERRY COURT Add-on kit.  Those enamel dots…are delicious!  I’m enjoying the Prima Chalk inks!  So sad they won’t be in the SC store anymore.

Olive green!  I love those navy enamel dots!  And those hearts…

Pink…isn’t that puppy dog badge just ADORABLE?

And red…with pink enamel dots + the aqua blue…

All items used are from Studio Calico’s BLOCK PARTY kits!

Which one is YOUR favorite?

happy NEW year!

…a little late to send this, I think…but good for next year.  LOL.  More BLOCK PARTY cards…CASING Maile Belles!

The patterned paper is from the exclusive to the card kit 6 x 6 paper pad…so’s the cute smiley face and the glitter brads.  The POLKA DOT (eek!) thickers and the “new year” stamp are from the PIONEER DRIVE scrapbook add-on kit.

Those thickers are quite cheerful…and the smiley face…fits perfect in the 1/2 inch punch!  Also…using the highly recommended Memento Tuxedo ink!  The yellow is Coltsfoot Prima chalk ink.  So sad I got on the Prima chalk ink bandwagon right as Studio Calico clears off the shelves; on the other hand…I DID get a good deal on them.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a moo’valous day!

More BLOCK PARTY!

Today, I’m sharing FOUR cards…created for the Studio Calico 01/20/2013 Sunday Sketch.  So far I have made 19 cards with Block Party.

I did supplement with items from my stash such as the cardstock bases (SU! Crumb Cake & SU! Basic Gray).  I am using Memento Tuxedo black, a new to me ink. So far, I like it.  Most of the sequins I pulled out of a mixed bag of sparkle I picked up @ Wal-mart!  It’s so much fun digging around in a container of bling!  LOL.

Which one is your favorite?
